Required skills & experience:
- 1+ years of life insurance, law office and/or research experience is required.
- Experience in an active office environment with short/shifting deadlines is required.
- Experience with internet research is required.
- Microsoft Windows/Office experience: Word and Excel required. Adobe Acrobat Professional & Access helpful.
- Knowledge of insurance products and insurance department statutes and regulations is a plus.
- Knowledge of SERFF filing system is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral; ability to work with outside agents, vendors & insurance examiners.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with other areas in the company.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work performed.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment; ability to work under pressure.
- Good reading skills, to include significant contract proofing.
- Possess personal traits of integrity, honesty, perseverance, leadership, dependability and a willingness to take the initiative to accomplish goals and provide good customer service.

Description of duties & responsibilities:
This is an entry-level position in the Product Filing Department. Develops, evaluates, reviews and prepares simple product/regulatory filings for state submission to obtain State Insurance Department approval.
- Prepares, proofs, and sends forms and page variations to be filed.
- Queries and updates database for additional information needed for state filings.
- Assembles/transmits filings and related correspondence.
- Initiates filing process with other areas of the company.
- Responds to requests for filing information.
- Organizes and stores filings both in paper and/or electronic format.
- Assists with research on compliance issues/analyzing state law changes.
- Verifies Model Advance and Production cases to ensure that pages have been produced as approved.
- Prepares annual regulatory filings; pays filing fees
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned by management.
Education Required: Associate's Degree or equivalent experience is required. Paralegal certificate is helpful. LOMA 280/281 and 290/291 are required within the first year.
